About Us:
Protocol Education is seeking a compassionate individual to join our team in promoting positive mental health. Based in schools Newcastle, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Position Overview:
We are looking for a friendly and approachable individual with a genuine passion for supporting students with SEND. This role initially offers short-term opportunities, but due to the high demand for SEND support in schools, there is potential for long-term placement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for SEND and SEMH students
- Collaborate with students, teachers, and parents
- Manage behaviour and serve as a positive role model
- Assist in personal and educational student development
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Prior experience working in SEMH or SEND schools
- Degree in a related field (e.g., Psychology, Clinical Background, Health and Social Care)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Passionate advocate for mental health
- Good understanding of SEND and SEMH
Teaching experience is desired but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
