About the Role:
Protocol Education are working with a client school in the Greenwich area who are looking to appoint Male SEN TA to work with Autistic child / children with special needs with difficult behaviour. The candidate will be working on the direction of class Teacher and Teaching Assistant. All the additional support will be provided by SENCO. You will be working in mainstream Primary school supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health problems. The experienced LSA's are required with previous experience/ support workers who can understand the role and has passion to bring change in someone's life. Because certain SEN children often have challenging behaviour and escalated situations where behavioural teaching assistants are required to de-escalate to maintain students and staff safety.
If you are support worker and have previously worked with mentally/physically challenging children/ Adults in care homes or elsewhere who have additional needs including ADHD, EAL, Autism (ASD/ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Social Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Hearing Impairment (HI), Visual Impairment (VI), Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SpLD), Anxiety issues, selected mutism etc. These are the children that would require additional support either 1:1 or in small groups.
What we need from you:
If you have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or are passionate about improving the outcomes for young people this is the role for you. As an individual you will be outgoing and confident in your abilities to deal with behavioural difficulties and re-engaging students in education.
It is desired (although not essential) that applicants have a qualification in Team Teach and experience in dealing with young people who have SEMH needs. Additional training and support will be provided by the schools themselves.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
