Learning Support Assistant

Are you looking for a role where you will work closely with children with SEN on a 1:1 basis?

Protocol Education are currently working with a range of Primary Schools in Hackney who are looking for experienced LSA's to join them in September 2024.

Our schools in Hackney are looking for LSA's to work with children in a range of different year groups. 

These are mainstream schools however you will be working with children with ASD.

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering individualised education plans
  • Providing one-on-one support to students to help them achieve their learning goals
  • Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborating with other staff members and parents to support student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Knowledge of SEND practises and strategies

Education:

Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Experience:

Prior experience working with students with SEND is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning styles and abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working in a primary school setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
