We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a charming Primary School located in Colchester!

Our client is a well-regarded Primary School committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment. With a focus on nurturing the potential of each student, the school strives to create a positive and engaging atmosphere where both students and staff can thrive.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of students within the Primary School. Working closely with teaching staff, you will help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
  2. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Plans.
  3. Support the classroom teacher in delivering differentiated lessons to cater to the diverse needs of students.
  4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
  5. Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective communication and support for students.
  6. Promote positive behavior management strategies and contribute to the maintenance of a safe and respectful learning environment.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of children.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow school policies and procedures.
  5. Understanding of and commitment to promoting inclusive education.

A relevant qualification in education or support work is desirable but not essential. Experience and a positive attitude are key.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
