Language Assistant:

Protocol Education are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work within our South Bristol Primary Schools to help students across KS1 + KS2.

This is a dynamic role full of variety on a day-to-day basis. You will be working alongside the classroom teacher to assist with students who may face barriers to learning due to their additional needs. The core purpose of this role is to ensure these students have opportunities to develop their language, communication, and confidence within their learning and themselves.

Fully flexible to fit around you and your commitments.

 

You in the role:

  • 1:1 support for student(s) struggling to access the curriculum.
  • Being a scribe for students who may have additional needs.
  • Able to lead small intervention groups.
  • Support and help the development of teaching for KS1 + KS2.
  • Creative, organised, and flexible.
  • Potential to offer your skills and knowledge as a tutor during or after school time.
  • A holistic view on the way that students learn and barriers they may face with learning.
  • A great communicator and team player.
  • Calm and patient.
  • Can use initiative to take direction.

Experience & Skills:

Desired but not essential!

  • Previous experience of working within an educational setting.
  • Previous volunteer/working experience with children.
  • Experience working with individuals with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of primary curriculum.

Hours:  08:30 – 15:30 – Monday to Friday (part time available)
