Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Hackney

Salary: £90 - £100 Per day - PAYE

We are currently recruiting on behalf of several mainstream Primary Schools in Hackney who are looking for TA's to join them in September 2024.

These positions will run for the duration of the academic year and may potentially lead to permanent employment at the school.

Our schools are looking for TA's to work with children across Key Stage 1 with additional needs, predominantly ASD.

You will be working on a 1-1 basis with one or several children and will be the main adult in charge of ensuring they are making adequate progress.

You will have the support of the class teacher and SENDCo throughout your placement.

Experience working with children with SEND is vital for these roles.

Job Duties:

  • Support the Key Stage 1 teacher in delivering lessons and activities
  • Assist with classroom management and student behaviour
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance
  • Prepare and set up equipment and resources for lessons
  • Assess and record student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Enhanced DBS check

Education:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting
  • Experience in supporting children's learning and development

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Organisational skills and ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
