Role Overview: As a History Teacher, you will have the opportunity to deliver engaging and dynamic lessons that bring history to life and inspire students to think critically, analyze evidence, and develop a deeper understanding of the past. Whether teaching ancient civilizations, medieval Europe, or modern world history, you will play a key role in helping students make connections between the past and the present and develop the skills they need to become informed and thoughtful global citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons that are engaging, interactive, and differentiated to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, supported, and motivated to participate in historical inquiry and discussion.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technology to enhance learning and promote historical literacy, critical thinking, and empathy.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and support for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective schemes of work, resources, and assessment strategies aligned with the school's curriculum and educational goals.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, communicating effectively and working collaboratively to support student success and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching History at Key Stages 3, 4, and/or 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for history, with the ability to inspire and engage students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Innovative and creative approach to teaching, with a commitment to delivering inclusive and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community.
