Job Overview: As a result of our recent and continuing school expansion, we are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational History Teacher to join our growing team in September 2024. This position is located in East London, with the start date scheduled after the Easter Half Term.

Candidates will be required to teach Key Stages 3 & 4 in the first instance, and be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning, while promoting outstanding progress and attainment for all. Our History department achieves outstanding results at GCSE and A level and has developed a broad and rich curriculum at Key Stage 3.

You must be passionate about teaching and expected to collaborate with colleagues in the department in planning and delivering lessons across a range of ages and abilities. Whether an Early Career Teacher or an experienced one, applications are welcomed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History within Key Stages 3 & 4, ensuring engaging and effective delivery of the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the department to plan and deliver lessons that cater to a diverse range of students.
  • Promote outstanding progress and attainment for all pupils, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Take on wider school responsibilities as necessary, contributing to the school's community-oriented ethos.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience and knowledge of teaching History within a secondary school (ages 11-18).
  • Excellent curriculum knowledge and the ability to sequence the skills and knowledge needed.
  • A proven record of, or commitment to, outstanding teaching and securing high levels of pupil progress.
  • Experience with, or a commitment to, wider school responsibilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • An appreciation and understanding of a school at the heart of the community.
