Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Here at Protocol, we are looking to recruit a new and passionate member of staff to step into a role as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) at a diverse primary school in South-East Leeds. If you have recently completed your Level 4 qualification, or if you’re a new teacher wanting to gain more experience in the classroom, this may be the perfect role for you!
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will connect directly with the students, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education, support the teacher with all elements of the day to day running of the class, teach a range of whole classes, smaller groups, and 1:1 to boost engagement and attainment.
The ideal candidate will:
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students according to the school’s policies.
- Support the day to day running of classes across the school and take the lead in the absence of a class teacher.
- Select and adapt appropriate resources.
- Reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
- Assess, record, and report on development, progress, and attainment.
- Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
- Be a role model for new staff and supervise and guide less experienced TA’s.
- Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school, and undertake duties and tasks to the highest ability.
