Protocol Education are currently recruiting outstanding graduates for our partner primary schools in Newham.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you may be working in a range of different roles and no two days will be the same.

As part of your role, you will be working closely with children with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD and MLD.

No prior experience is expected for these roles and you will be given on the job training by a supportive SLT and SENDCO.

We work closely with you to find the perfect role in the right school and provide on-going support throughout the year.

All of our partner schools are located within Newham.

Job Duties:

  • Assist lead teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require extra help
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour monitoring
  • Support in preparing educational materials and resources

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Education or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents

Education:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

Prior experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of educational principles and practises
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role
  • Additional training or certifications in education or child development

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school environment, following the school calendar and daily schedule. The position may require occasional evening or weekend work for school events or meetings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
