We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Food-Tech Teacher to join our team at a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school in Doncaster. As a Food-Tech Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality education and support to students with special needs in the field of food technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive food technology lessons to students with various special educational needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance learning experiences for students with special needs.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes social skills development and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and behavior.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the students' care.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Specialization or experience in food technology or a related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs and disabilities, particularly in the context of food technology education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
