Educational Healthcare Assistant - Redbridge

  • Supporting: Children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

Protocol Education is currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Educational Healthcare Assistant to join a reputable school in Redbridge. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support for education, health, medical, physical, and personal care needs, while following agreed Education and Health Care Plans. This role requires attending to pupils' personal needs, including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and feeding, as well as providing physical assistance during activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement behaviour modification interventions specific to issues raised by pastoral staff and/or subject teachers, with a particular focus on students with emotional or mental health needs.
  • Facilitate the holistic progress of individuals and small groups by providing emotional and behavioural support and utilising a variety of intervention strategies.
  • Deliver programmes of targeted interventions, such as mental and emotional health, self-esteem, anger-management, and self-awareness, to groups and individuals.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching, and senior staff to implement agreed interventions and programmes of work.
  • Partner with students to improve punctuality, attendance levels, and support their return to school following prolonged absence.
  • Work with individuals and groups of students, using prior information from the appropriate Head of Year, such as current behavioural issues, academic levels, and reason for referral.
  • Create a calm, productive atmosphere with minimal disruption and confrontation, while assertively and fairly enforcing the expectations of the school.

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
