Early Years School teaching assistant

Protocol Education are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work as Nursery Support in the Stockton-on-Tees area. We are looking for a confident, resiliant and proactive individual that is open to all types of working such as, part-time, full-time, long-term, and short-term. 

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting young children as they become intergrated into school life. You will assist the classroom teacher delivering the curriculum and maintaining the mental and physical wellbeing of the children.

Job Description:

  • Assist the classroom teacher delivering the curriculum and maintaining the mental and physical wellbeing of the children.
  • One-to-one and small group support to pupils.
  • Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Assisting children to access the national curriculum and adapting these materials as necessary.
  • Supporting children in Maths, English, and Phonics.
  • Managing challenging behaviour and building positive relationships with young children and staff.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification (minimum). We offer CPD courses on our website, many of which have been reduced.
  • Experience working in a UK classroom setting (desirable)
  • Must be local to the Teesside area.
  • Driver (prefered)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team alongside Teachers and other Teaching Assistants.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare (We offer a FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers).
  • Hold a current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) that is on the update service or willing to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
