Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development:

    • Develop and implement an engaging and challenging Design and Technology curriculum that aligns with the national standards and educational goals.
    • Integrate innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student understanding and application of design principles and technological concepts.
  2. Classroom Instruction:

    • Conduct effective and dynamic classroom instruction, catering to diverse learning styles and abilities.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  3. Assessment and Feedback:

    • Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and achievement in Design and Technology.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their continuous improvement.
  4. Equipment and Resource Management:

    • Manage and maintain the Design and Technology workshop, ensuring that all equipment and resources are in proper working order.
    • Supervise student use of tools and machinery, emphasizing safety protocols and best practices.
  5. Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-disciplinary approaches and promote a holistic learning experience.
    • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and achievements.
  6. Professional Development:

    • Stay abreast of advancements in design and technology education.
    • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design and Technology Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Design and Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in design and technology education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
