Role Overview: We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Dance Teacher to join our Performing Arts department. As a key member of our team, you will deliver dynamic and engaging dance lessons to students aged 11-16, inspiring them to explore various dance styles and techniques while fostering their creativity and self-expression. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to extracurricular activities, school productions, and dance showcases, enriching the school community and showcasing students' talents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality dance lessons that cater to a diverse range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves and explore their creativity through dance.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative dance curriculum and extracurricular activities that enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent consultations, and school events to support the wider school community and promote the performing arts.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree or relevant qualification in Dance or Performing Arts.
  • Demonstrable experience teaching dance to secondary school students, with a strong understanding of dance pedagogy and curriculum development.
  • Passion for dance education and a commitment to inspiring and motivating students to achieve their goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
