Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Design and Technology Technician to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Design and Technology department, ensuring that our students have access to the necessary tools, equipment, and resources to develop their practical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in the preparation and organization of practical lessons and demonstrations.
  • Maintain and organize equipment and resources, ensuring they are in proper working order.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment and materials for practical lessons, workshops, and exams.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Help students with their projects, offering guidance and technical assistance when needed.
  • Manage and maintain inventories, ensuring adequate stock levels of materials and supplies.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and create teaching resources and displays.
  • Provide technical support for extracurricular activities, competitions, and exhibitions.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in Design and Technology or a related field.
  • Knowledge of various Design and Technology disciplines, including but not limited to engineering, graphics, textiles, and product design.
  • Strong practical skills and proficiency in using relevant tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Familiarity with health and safety guidelines in a practical workshop environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting students in their learning journey.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
