Protocol Education is currently seeking a dedicated and creative SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in Wandsworth, Greater London. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring their individual needs are met in a creative and engaging manner.

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with SEND on a one-to-one basis
  • Adapting and differentiating work to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Overcoming barriers to learning and behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
  • Implementing sensory integration techniques to support students with sensory needs
  • Developing social awareness and understanding in students with SEND
  • Enhancing communication skills through the use of visual resources
  • Planning and delivering creative and engaging lessons tailored to individual student requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent
  • BA or BSc in Education or relevant field

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Understanding of autism, severe learning difficulties, and other SEND conditions
  • Ability to differentiate teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school or educational setting

Working Conditions:

The role of Creative SEND Teaching Assistant is based in a school setting in Wandsworth, Greater London. The position is full-time, working hours are expected to be during school hours. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students with SEND.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
