Are you a passionate support worker or teaching assistant with a diverse background in art, music, or acting? We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals eager to unleash their creative talents in the unique environment of a special needs school in Sunderland.

As a teaching assistant, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing creativity and enhancing students' abilities in a dynamic sensory setting. Your responsibilities will include improving hand-eye coordination, speech and language skills, social and communication abilities, independence, and cognitive processes.

But that's not all - you will also have the exciting opportunity to explore various subjects, such as cooking, art, and music.

Key Details:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • Engage students through dynamic activities including music, art, physical education, and cooking
  • Provide personalised support, with a focus on elevating students' communication and hand-eye coordination
  • Assist with sensory integration in the classroom
  • Collaborate with teachers to assess students' abilities and progress
  • Ensure adherence to the school's principles and policies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
