Job Duties:

  • Supervise students in the absence of a teacher to ensure a safe and productive learning environment
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and manage classroom behaviour
  • Support the learning and progress of students by providing assistance and guidance as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behaviour
  • Communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents regarding student progress and any issues that arise

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Mathematics

Education:

Relevant education and training qualifications are desirable

Experience:

Experience working with secondary school students is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a classroom and engage students effectively
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience in a similar role within a school setting

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a secondary school environment, following the school term calendar. Full-time hours are expected, with occasional requirements for additional hours or duties.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
