Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Cover Supervisor to join our team in Yorkshire and the Humber, specifically in North Yorkshire, Redcar. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes during the short-term absence of teachers. Your primary role will be to ensure that pre-prepared work is completed in an orderly and productive manner.

Job Duties:

  • Supervise students in the classroom during the short-term absence of teachers
  • Ensure that students complete pre-prepared work
  • Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive learning environment
  • Assist with any queries from students
  • Report back on student behaviour and any issues that arise

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Education:

Minimum of GCSE level education

Experience:

Previous experience working with children or young adults is desirable

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively
  • Organisational skills to ensure work is completed in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant qualifications

Working Conditions:

This role involves working within an educational setting, following school hours and term times. You will be working with students aged between 11-16 years old.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
