Job Description: We are seeking a caring and dedicated Class Teacher Assistant to join our supportive team. As a Class Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide valuable support and assistance in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs and abilities of students across the curriculum.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom materials, resources, and activities to support teaching and learning, and create a stimulating and interactive learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance with their learning, under the direction of the class teacher, and help them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, and provide encouragement, guidance, and emotional support to help them develop confidence, self-esteem, and resilience.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support, and implement effective behavior management strategies to promote a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Support the class teacher in assessing student progress through observation and feedback, and contribute to the monitoring and recording of student achievement and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support the holistic development of students, and participate in meetings, training, and professional development activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant or classroom support worker.
  • Passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development, and a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and take direction from the class teacher while also using initiative and demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature, with the ability to respond sensitively to the individual needs and circumstances of students.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students' learning and development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
