Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging chemistry lessons to students
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress and provide feedback
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans
  • Manage classroom activities and student behaviour
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for teaching and helping students succeed

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field

Experience:

Previous experience teaching chemistry is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of chemistry concepts and principles
  • Ability to engage and inspire students
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Proficient in using educational technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a school environment, following the academic calendar. Standard working hours are expected, with occasional extra hours for planning and meetings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
