We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioural Learning Mentor to join a school in Barnsley. As a Behavioural Learning Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to students who require assistance with their behavioural development and learning strategies. Your primary focus will be to help students overcome behavioural challenges, develop positive habits, and enhance their overall learning experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to identify and assess behavioural challenges in students.
  • Design and implement individualized behavioural intervention plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Provide one-on-one mentoring and coaching to students, teaching them effective strategies for self-regulation, problem-solving, and goal-setting.
  • Monitor student progress and track behavioural improvements over time, adjusting intervention plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom-wide strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify learning barriers and develop strategies to address them.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to teachers and parents on effective behavioural management techniques and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions provided, and outcomes achieved.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with students with behavioural challenges and implementing behavioural intervention plans.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioural theories, learning strategies, and evidence-based practices or willingness to undergo training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome behavioural obstacles and reach their full potential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
