We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Support Assistant to join our educational institution in Hillingdon, Greater London. As a valuable member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural challenges, promoting a positive learning environment, and assisting teaching staff in delivering high-quality education.

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with behavioural difficulties, ensuring their safety and well-being within the school premises.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions as directed by the teaching staff and support plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour support programmes, including monitoring progress and collecting relevant data.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to establish effective communication channels and maintain consistency in behavioural approaches.
  • Support students in their academic pursuits by providing learning support, guidance, and encouragement.
  • Supervise and facilitate activities during break times, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Accurately record and maintain documentation related to student behaviour, progress, and incidents, adhering to data protection and confidentiality policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification.

Education:

  • A minimum of a Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification is required.

Experience:

  • Prior experience working as a Behaviour Support Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and the ability to adapt support accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and composed in challenging situations.
  • Organisational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management, special educational needs, or related fields would be advantageous.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position with standard working hours.
  • The role is based in Hillingdon, Greater London, and will require working within an educational institution.
  • Occasional flexibility may be required to attend meetings or events outside of regular working hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
