Position Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who may face challenges with their behaviour, providing guidance, encouragement, and positive reinforcement to help them overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff, you will implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and create a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require assistance with managing their behaviour.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions in collaboration with teachers and SENCO.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, serving as a role model and mentor to help them develop self-discipline and resilience.
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour patterns, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions as needed.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students' behavioural needs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour preferred but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students.
  • Resilience, patience, and empathy to effectively support students facing behavioural challenges.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity and respects individual differences.
  • Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and safeguarding training.
