About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Shrewsbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils at a pivotal stage in their education, helping them build confidence, independence, and academic success.
You will work closely with the classroom teacher to deliver personalised support tailored to individual student needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualised support and assistance to all pupils in Year 6

Collaborate with the classroom teacher to plan and deliver tailored lessons and activities

Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
-
Promote self-confidence and independence among students
-
Adapt teaching strategies and resources to suit different learning styles and abilities
-
Assist in assessing student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents
-
Build positive relationships with pupils and maintain clear communication with school staff and parents
-
Uphold the school’s values, policies, and safeguarding procedures
Requirements:

Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent)

Previous experience working within a Year 6 classroom

Strong empathy and understanding of individual pupil needs
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Patience, resilience, and the ability to provide emotional support when necessary
-
Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of students and teaching strategies
-
Knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and resources for individual support
-
Relevant qualifications in education or teaching assistant roles are desirable but not essential
