Year 5 Teaching Assistant

Role Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Year 5 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to pupils, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work closely with the classroom teacher to deliver tailored lessons and foster a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualised support to all pupils in Year 5.

Collaborate with the classroom teacher to plan and deliver differentiated lessons and activities tailored to student needs.

Support pupils’ academic progress as well as social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and independence.

Create and maintain a nurturing, inclusive environment that enables pupils to succeed.

Adapt teaching resources and strategies to suit individual learning styles and abilities.

Assist with monitoring pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

Build positive relationships with pupils and maintain clear communication with school staff and parents.

Adhere to and promote the school’s values, policies, and procedures.
Candidate Requirements:

Level Two or Level Three qualification in Support Teaching or Learning (or equivalent).

Experience working with Year 5 pupils or similar age groups.

Strong empathy and understanding of individual pupil needs.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with pupils, staff, and parents.

Patience, resilience, and the ability to provide emotional support when needed.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of pupils and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

Knowledge of teaching methodologies and resources relevant to individualised pupil support.

Relevant education or teaching assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
