A welcoming primary school in Caterham is seeking a committed Year 5 Class Teacher to provide long-term cover. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher, or a confident ECT, who is looking for stability and the chance to make a real impact on pupils’ learning and progress.
You’ll be leading a settled Year 5 class, delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum, and working closely with colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency for pupils during this period of cover.
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent)
- Experience teaching at Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
- Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- A teacher who can adapt quickly, follow planning, and contribute to the wider school community
- Enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine passion for teaching
Key Responsibilities
- Full teaching responsibility for a Year 5 class
- Delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge pupils
- Supporting pupils with different abilities to achieve their best outcomes
- Managing behaviour in line with school policies
- Working collaboratively with the year group team and SLT
- Attending staff meetings, planning sessions, and contributing to school life
