Role Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the academic, social, and emotional development of young learners within a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons tailored to Year 1 pupils.

  • Support pupils’ academic progress and promote their social and emotional development.

  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning space for all children.

  • Prepare and organise educational resources and materials.

  • Supervise pupils during breaks and off-site activities.

  • Monitor and report on student progress to the class teacher.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents to support pupil well-being.

  • Adhere to and promote the school’s values, policies, and procedures.

Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience working with young children, ideally in Year 1.

  • A genuine passion for supporting early childhood development.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships.

  • Flexibility and a proactive attitude to meet pupils’ diverse needs.

  • Basic understanding of child development and learning techniques.

  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous but not essential.
