Protocol Education is seeking an attentive and enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and forward-thinking primary school in Enfield. This is a full-time, term-time position beginning in September 2025, ideal for someone who thrives on helping children grow—both academically and personally—during this important transition phase in Key Stage 1.

Pay: £90–£95 per day (depending on experience)

The Opportunity:

Year 2 is a unique and exciting stage—where early skills are cemented, routines are established, and young minds begin to explore learning with greater independence. As a TA in this setting, you’ll be a vital source of encouragement, structure, and creativity. Working closely with the class teacher, you’ll help deliver targeted interventions, reinforce core skills, and create a calm, engaging classroom environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting literacy and numeracy activities, particularly in preparation for KS1 SATs
  • Working with small groups and individuals to close learning gaps
  • Encouraging positive learning habits and helping pupils stay focused and motivated
  • Assisting with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing and fostering a growth mindset in young learners

You’ll Need:

  • Previous experience working in Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience is a bonus!)
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent childcare/education training)
  • A sound understanding of phonics and early learning strategies
  • Patience, adaptability, and a natural rapport with children
  • Thrive training is highly valued—we offer this free if you’re not already certified
