Job Title: Vision Impairment Support Specialist (Level 3 TA Qualified)
Location: Across Gateshead
Contract: 4 Days a Week | Ongoing
Pay: £89–£108 per day (depending on experience)
Love helping students see the bigger picture, literally and figuratively? This one’s for you.
We’re on the lookout for a confident, compassionate TA who can support learners with vision impairments across multiple schools. You’ll be travelling between sites (so yes, you’ll need your own wheels) and working with pupils aged 0–25.
Some days it’s in-class support. Other days you’ll be doing essential 1:1 work or transcription for large print users. It’s varied, impactful, and seriously rewarding.
What you’ll need:
-
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or above (non-negotiable)
-
A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle
-
A calm, can-do approach and a knack for adapting to different settings
-
Experience with vision impairment (bonus points if you’ve worked in SEND)
Why it matters:
You’ll be a vital part of helping visually impaired students access learning whether that’s enlarging content, breaking down barriers, or just being that steady, supportive presence in their day.
Perks of working with Protocol Education:
-
Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella faff)
-
Free access to CPD including our Thrive training for emotional wellbeing support
-
Personalised support from your own consultant
