Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start your career by making a real difference.
We’re looking for a Trainee SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Blyth, supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You don’t need school experience to get started—what matters is your attitude, empathy, and commitment to helping young people feel safe, valued, and heard.
Many of the pupils you’ll work with have faced challenges that go beyond the classroom. They need someone who will turn up every day with calm encouragement and help them find their way back into learning, friendships, and confidence.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Working closely with individual pupils who need extra emotional and behavioural support
-
Building trust and creating positive, structured routines
-
Encouraging children to take small, steady steps towards success
-
Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to shape tailored support
-
Being a positive presence, helping children to believe in themselves again
Why start your journey with Protocol Education?
-
Weekly pay through PAYE—no hidden fees
-
FREE access to CPD and Thrive training to build your confidence
-
Dedicated, one-to-one support from your own consultant
-
Clear pathways for development and long-term career progression
-
Referral rewards if you recommend someone to join the team
Who we’re looking for:
If you’re calm under pressure, a good listener, and ready to make a real impact, you’ll fit right in here. Maybe you’ve worked with children before—or maybe this is your first step into education. Either way, we’ll help you learn as you go, with expert guidance every step of the way.
If you’re ready to help children build trust, resilience, and pride in themselves, we’d love to hear from you.
