Teaching Assistant – Maths- Darlington
Location: Darlington
Contract: Full-time, September 2025 – July 2026
Salary: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)

We’re looking for a Maths Intervention Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Darlington this September. You’ll be supporting students who need a little extra help to build their confidence and grasp key maths concepts—whether it’s bridging gaps from KS3 or boosting GCSE readiness.
The school has a brilliant support structure in place, with a hands-on SENCO, a warm staff culture, and a real focus on student progress and wellbeing. You’ll be part of a friendly team that believes no pupil should be left behind, especially when it comes to numeracy.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting students in small groups or 1:1 with maths interventions

Reinforcing learning from the classroom with tailored, accessible tasks

Working closely with class teachers and the SEN team

Celebrating the small wins and making maths feel less scary for everyone
What we’re looking for:

Experience working with students in a support role

Confidence in maths up to GCSE level ideally with a degree in Maths

A calm, positive approach and great communication skills

Someone patient, kind, and able to bring out the best in learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
