Year 1 Teaching Assistant

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Camden is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. You’ll be working with pupils as they make the big leap from Early Years into Key Stage 1, helping them grow in confidence and develop key skills for their learning journey.
The Role:

Assisting the class teacher with engaging lessons across the curriculum

Leading small group work and 1:1 sessions in phonics, literacy, and numeracy

Supporting children with the transition from play-based to more structured learning
-
Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive behaviour

Providing additional support for pupils with varying needs
We’re Looking For:

Experience working in KS1, ideally with Year 1 pupils

A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach
-
Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude

A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Thrive training is a plus – if you’re not trained yet, we’ll provide it free
