Reception Teaching Assistant

Location: Camden, London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, term-time only (with potential for long-term placement)
Setting: Reception classes across Camden primary schools

We’re working with a number of welcoming primary schools in Camden looking for skilled and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistants to join them from September. You’ll be part of a dedicated Early Years team, supporting children as they take their first big steps in school life.


The Role:

  • Supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging, play-based learning

  • Leading small group and 1:1 activities to build confidence in early literacy and numeracy

  • Encouraging positive social skills, independence, and curiosity

  • Helping to create a safe, calm, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Providing additional support for children with varying needs


We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in a Reception or Early Years setting

  • A nurturing, patient and proactive approach

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • EYFS/Childcare qualifications (Level 2 or 3) are desirable but not essential

  • A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Thrive training is a plus — if you’re not trained, we’ll provide it free
