Role Overview
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, pupils, and parents to create a supportive classroom environment. Your role will be central to helping students achieve strong academic outcomes and grow in confidence, while ensuring inclusivity for all learners.
Key Duties
Supporting Learning
- Assist pupils through structured learning programmes, encouraging independence and confidence.
- Promote collaboration and inclusion, ensuring all students engage positively with lessons.
- Work alongside the SENCO and teachers to assess needs, support Education Plans, and adapt resources for SEND and EAL learners.
- Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring, including intervention sessions to support challenging topics.
- Record progress and feedback to staff, helping track pupil development.
- Contribute to whole class teaching and provide classroom cover when required.
Classroom & Behaviour Support
- Develop and adapt resources to make learning accessible.
- Support behaviour management strategies, creating a positive and safe learning atmosphere.
- Guide pupils in achieving objectives both inside and outside the classroom (computer labs, libraries, activities).
