Support that sticks. A classroom that clicks.

We’re working with a welcoming, Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ school in Birmingham that’s searching for a kind, capable Teaching Assistant to support their Key Stage 1 learners—some of whom may have additional needs.

This role is ideal if you enjoy variety and want to make a real difference, especially to children who need a little extra care, encouragement, or structure. It’s about being that steady presence in the room—the person pupils know they can rely on.

Your role will include:

  • Creating a calm, supportive learning environment for all pupils
  • Working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils who need help staying on task
  • Supporting children with SEND—this might involve adapting resources, using visual aids, or helping with transitions and routines
  • Helping with classroom organisation and behaviour management
  • Supporting learning through play, phonics, and early literacy and numeracy activities

Who this would suit:

  • You’ve worked with children in schools, nurseries, or similar settings
  • You’re calm under pressure, and great at building trust with children
  • You understand the needs of young learners, including those with SEND
  • You can follow guidance but also use your initiative when needed

We’ll support you with:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE—simple, fair, and transparent
  • Access to our online CPD academy (all free, no catches)
  • One-to-one support from a dedicated consultant who’s local to you
  • Long-term and short-term roles to suit your availability
  • A referral scheme that rewards you for recommending others
