Be the calm in the classroom
Ever found yourself smoothing over a tricky transition, turning chaos into calm, or spotting the pupil who needs a quiet word and a smile? Then you might just be the Teaching Assistant this Birmingham school is looking for.
We’re after someone brilliant, reliable, and ready to roll this September for a role in a vibrant, supportive primary school. Whether you’re looking for part-time flexibility or a full-time role, we’ve got options to suit.
Why you’ll love this school
Rated Good by Ofsted, this is one of those schools where everything just works. The vibe is positive, the staffroom’s friendly, and wellbeing really matters—yours included.
The whole team here believes calm classrooms start with calm adults, so they’ve built a genuinely nurturing environment. You won’t just be supporting pupils—you’ll be supported too.
What you’ll be doing
No two days are the same—and that’s just how you like it.
You’ll be the class teacher’s right hand: setting up for the day, supporting groups or 1:1s, helping with resources, transitions, behaviour, and the occasional glitter-fuelled craft activity. From phonics games to emotional check-ins, you’ll be there to help children feel safe, seen, and ready to learn.
You’ll also play a key role in supporting pupils with SEND—adjusting resources, simplifying instructions, and spotting when someone needs a breather.
You’ll need:
- Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Childcare & Education
- A good grip on the national curriculum
- Confidence with group work and SEN support
- A quick-thinking, flexible mindset—because schools don’t always run to plan
What you’ll get:
- Free access to our CPD Academy
- Personalised support from your own consultant
- Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella faff)
- Roles in schools where support staff are genuinely valued
