We’re looking for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex and severe autism in a welcoming special needs school in Croydon. This is a full-time, long-term role that makes a meaningful difference every single day.
You’ll be part of a team that provides structure, safety, and small wins for children who need consistency and care above all else.
Your role:

Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with high needs autism

Helping students navigate routines, regulate emotions, and access learning

Working closely with class teachers, therapists, and parents

Using visuals, sensory tools, and clear communication to build trust

Creating a calm, predictable classroom environment
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting pupils with autism, especially non-verbal or high-needs

Brings calm, patience, and a sense of humour to tough moments
-
Understands the power of routine, reassurance, and gentle encouragement

Can commit full-time and build strong relationships over time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
