Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Phonics Trained Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support students in developing their phonics skills, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed in their early literacy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering phonics lessons and activities, tailored to the needs of individual and small groups of students.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to reinforce phonics learning objectives and address specific student needs.
- Monitor student progress in phonics and provide regular feedback to teachers.
- Support the creation of a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love of reading and literacy.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement effective phonics strategies and resources.
- Assist with classroom management and organization.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience as a Learning Support Assistant, with specialized training in phonics.
- Experience working with primary school students, particularly in early years or KS1.
- Strong knowledge of phonics programs and effective support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
