An exciting opportunity has arisen within a Good Ofsted rated school in Durham for a SEN Teaching Assistant/LSA with SEN experience. This role is a full time and opportunity, supporting various year groups/classrooms. The SEN Teaching Assistant/LSA role is a challenging but a highly rewarding experience that is pivotal to the overall learning and development of pupils.
The position will require strong commitment, 5 days per week. The role will be supporting the classroom teacher as well as doing small group work with lower/higher ability children.
The successful candidate will be encouraging, flexible and patient. They should be able to work as part of a team, communicate with parents as well as having an open-minded approach to learning.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:
• Previous experience of supporting on a one-to-one or smaller groups basis
• Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant or have transferable skills
• Minimum Level 2 Teaching and Learning Support Qualification or be willing to complete
• Experience in working with children with challenging behaviours
• Be flexible and available for work
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or be willing to purchase. If you have worked overseas for a period of 6 months in the last 5 years you MUST have a overseas police check
• References covering the last 2 years minimum
• Be able to demonstrate de-escalation techniques and apply behaviour policies
