A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting this September. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting young people, confident working in a classroom setting, and ready to assist both teachers and pupils in achieving their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, including those with additional learning needs

  • Work alongside teachers to deliver differentiated support and maintain a positive learning environment

  • Support individual and small groups of students with literacy, numeracy, and subject-specific tasks

  • Assist with classroom management, lesson preparation, and the organisation of learning materials

  • Encourage student engagement, motivation, and independence

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

You will be a great fit if you:

  • Have experience working in a school or youth setting (preferred but not essential)

  • Possess strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills

  • Are patient, proactive, and passionate about supporting young learners

  • Can work flexibly to meet the needs of the class and individual pupils

  • Are committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting positive outcomes for all students

  • Have a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to apply for one
