Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging music lessons to students
  • Develop and implement music curriculum in line with educational standards
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress and provide feedback
  • Organise and supervise music-related extracurricular activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall music education programme

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field

Experience:

Previous experience teaching music in a school setting is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong musical abilities and proficiency in playing musical instruments
  • Knowledge of music theory, history, and various genres
  • Effective classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their musical talents

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Music Education or related field
  • Experience in organising music events or productions

Working Conditions:

The role of Teacher of Music involves working in a school environment, collaborating with students, colleagues, and parents. Some evening or weekend work may be required for music-related events or performances.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
