Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Autism Specialism
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Are you patient, passionate, and ready to make a real difference?
We’re looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant with experience—or a real interest—in supporting autistic students to join our inclusive secondary school in Leeds this September. If you’re someone who believes every young person deserves the chance to shine, we’d love to hear from you!
About the Role:
This is a rewarding and hands-on role, working closely with students who may need a little extra support in and out of the classroom. You’ll be helping autistic students to access learning, develop confidence, and feel supported throughout the school day. Whether it’s helping with communication, building routines, or just being a calm, steady presence—they’ll know they can count on you.
What We’re Looking For:
-
Experience working with autistic children or young people (in a school or other setting)
-
A patient, empathetic and flexible approach
-
Great communication skills and a good sense of humour
-
A team player who’s also confident working independently
-
A real passion for inclusion and helping students thrive
Even better if you have:
-
Knowledge of autism-friendly strategies (e.g. visuals, sensory tools, social stories)
-
A relevant qualification or training (but not essential—we’ll support the right person!)
-
Experience in a secondary school setting
What We Offer:
-
A welcoming, supportive team who genuinely care
-
A positive, inclusive school culture where every voice matters
-
Opportunities for training and professional development
-
A chance to make a lasting impact on students’ lives every single day
How to Apply:
Please send us your CV and a short cover letter telling us why you’d be a great fit for this role. We’ll be reviewing applications as they come in—so don’t wait too long!
If you’re passionate about supporting young people and making school a place where every student feels understood and valued, we’d love to have you on our team.
