Protocol Education are working with a well-known SEND school in Hounslow, located near Hatton Cross station. This is a large Special Needs School with over 200 students from Early years through to Secondary School. (EYFS to KS4).
They are currently looking for candidates who are available to cover shifts daily.
About the school:
There are over 30 classes in the school. Classes range from Early Years (EYFS) and through to Primary and Secondary School level (KS1 – KS4)
The needs are a mix of Complex Needs (moderate and not severe) through to Autistic students (ASC) and students with low cognitive function.
Academically, the school base their teachings on the national curriculum and students will require one to one time to tailor their studies to their level.
Student numbers range from 8 to 11 students per class.
You will have the support of a Teacher and 1 -2 teaching assistants in a classroom.
At secondary level – the class will always have a minimum of 2 Teaching Assistants in a class.
About you:
- Previous SEND experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
- Ability to interact well with the children.
- There is the possibility of long term, full time work available in this role.
About the role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to support the students in small groups (2 – 3 students) or depending on the need of the child, one to one support.
The students will have a structured day and you will be expected to keep records of each activity, for each child to have a record of learning progress for the day. Written feedback on their behaviour is also compulsory.
Additional Information:
The school day runs from 8:30am to 3:45pm.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
