Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-time or part-time

We’re looking for sociology graduates to join Newcastle secondary schools as Learning Support Assistants. This role is all about supporting students who need a bit of extra help with learning, focus and confidence.

It’s a brilliant first step if you’re considering careers in education, youth work, social care or mental health – hands-on experience that makes a difference every day.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups during lessons

  • Helping pupils with social, emotional or learning needs to stay engaged

  • Assisting teachers in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Building strong relationships and acting as a positive role model

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in sociology (or a related subject)

  • Patience, empathy and great communication skills

  • Flexibility – every day is different in school life!

  • Experience with young people through volunteering, mentoring or coaching is a plus
