Sociology Graduate Teaching Assistants – Newcastle

£90–£120 per day (depending on experience)

We’re looking for enthusiastic Sociology graduates to join secondary schools across Newcastle as Teaching Assistants. You’ll play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and confidence—helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils in lessons and helping them stay engaged

  • Working 1:1 or with small groups to build confidence and skills

  • Supporting behaviour management and positive classroom routines

  • Using your sociology insights to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds

What we’re looking for:

  • A Sociology graduate (or soon-to-be graduate)

  • Strong communication, empathy, and people skills

  • A positive, proactive approach to supporting young learners

  • Any previous experience with children or young people (schools, youth work, mentoring, tutoring) is a bonus!
