SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Wolverhampton
Job Type: Supply Teaching
Industry: Primary SEN Support
Reference: wvsenta
Salary: £83 - 90 per day
Job Published: 8 days ago

We’re looking for a kind-hearted, can-do Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming Catholic primary school, supporting lovely little learners in Key Stage 1—some of whom have special educational needs and may need a bit of extra help with personal care.

If you’ve got a big heart, bags of patience, and love the idea of being someone’s calm in the storm, read on.

The Role:

You’ll be supporting pupils in KS1—helping them thrive both in and out of the classroom. Day to day, you’ll be:

  • Working with children with SEND, creating a space where they feel safe, supported, and ready to learn

  • Lending a hand with personal care tasks when needed, always with dignity and kindness

  • Collaborating with class teachers and support staff to keep the learning journey on track

  • Encouraging pupils to live out the school’s Gospel values—things like generosity, kindness, and curiosity—through your actions and interactions

What Makes This School Special?

This school lives its values. Inspired by Catholic teachings, they believe in being more—not just having more. It's a community rooted in service, gratitude, and a deep belief that every child deserves to flourish, both academically and spiritually.

You’ll be joining a setting that’s:

  • Faith-filled and inclusive—open to staff and pupils from all walks of life

  • Nurturing and values-led—a place where children are encouraged to grow in confidence, kindness, and curiosity

  • Supportive and team-oriented—where staff look out for each other, pitch in, and share the wins

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children, especially those with SEND

  • A calm, patient, and respectful approach to every child

  • Willingness to support with personal care where needed

  • An openness to working in a Catholic school and embracing its values

Whether you’re an experienced TA or looking to step into a more rewarding role, if this sounds like your kind of setting—we’d love to hear from you.
