SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Protocol Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Shrewsbury to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a real difference in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting children with specific needs in class, small group, and 1:1 settings
-
Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities in line with EHCPs and individual needs
-
Promoting positive engagement and progress across a range of learning and developmental areas
-
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
The ideal candidate will:
-
Have experience working with children with SEND (essential)
-
Hold a minimum of Grade C/4 in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
-
Have NVQ Level 2 qualification or above
-
Be patient, approachable, and consistent in supporting children’s individual needs
-
Be proactive and confident in engaging with learners across different settings
Experience in any of the following areas is highly desirable:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
-
Sensory Processing Difficulties
-
Social Communication Difficulties
-
Language & Social Interaction
-
Cognition & Learning Support
Training will be provided for the right candidate where needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
