SEN Teaching Assistant – Supporting ASD, ADHD & PMLD Needs
Location: Croydon
Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Start Date: September

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? An inclusive and forward-thinking school in Croydon is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

About the Role:
In this full-time position, you’ll work alongside experienced educators to support students both one-on-one and in small groups. You'll help create a positive, structured learning environment tailored to the unique needs of each child. Your role will involve helping students achieve educational and emotional milestones in a safe and supportive setting.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing individualised support for students based on their learning and care needs

  • Assisting with personal care and mobility (when necessary)

  • Helping implement behaviour strategies and education plans

  • Contributing to an engaging and safe classroom atmosphere

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals

  • Using communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC (if applicable)

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience (professional or personal) working with children or young people with ASD, ADHD, or PMLD

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

  • Qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning are a plus but not required

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding practices

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
